Graduated with distinction from the Kiev Art Institute in 1955. Distinguished Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1969). People’s Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1974). Lived and worked in Dnepropetrovsk, from 1974 on in Kiev. Taught at the Dnepropetrovsk Art College and the Kiev Art Institute (1975-1978). Veteran of the Second World War. Was awarded the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of the Ukraine (1978) for a series of paintings “Places associated with Lenin”, “The Ulyanovs in Ukraine”, and a cyclus of industrial landscapes in Ukraine. Was Chairman of the Dnepropetrovsk branch of the Artists’ Union of the USSR. Started taking an interest in watercolour technique in Kiev, became a member of the All-Union Creative Group of Watercolourists. Together with members of the group he undertook a trip to the Komi ASSR in 1978.

Personal exhibitions took place in Dnepropetrovsk in 1958, 1967, 1970 and in Kiev in 1960, 1970.
