Studied at the Cheboksary Art College (1950- 1955). Member of the Artists’ Union of the USSR (1967). Distinguished Artist of the Chuvash ASSR (1976), People’s Artist of the Chuvash ASSR (1977), Distinguished Artist of the RSFSR (1985). Was awarded the Silver medal of the Academy of Fine Arts of the USSR (1978), the Certificate of Merit of the Chuvash Republic (2010). Organized the creative brigade “Village dawns” from 1971 on, which worked on the “Guardsman” collective farms of the Batyrevskiy District and “Yangorichino” of the Burnarskiy District of Chuvashiya. A picture gallery is being established on the basis of the works painted by the brigade in “Yangorchino”. Is one of the organizers of the Achakskaya Picture Gallery and of the Poretskiy Cultural-Historical and Art Museum Complex (1988).

In the 1990’s he works actively for the revival of his native village Shadrikhi, where a private village museum complex is established, including a private picture gallery, a memorial park, a chapel – a memorial for the fellow countrymen, who fell during the Second World War, and a museum of folklore. In 2002 he received the Grant of the President of the Russian Federation for the realisation of the project “Revival of the cultural-historical tradition of the village of Shadrino as an example for hundreds of desolate Russian villages”. Chairman of four symposiums on painting, organised at the end of the 80’s and at the beginning of the 90’s by the Artists’ Union of the USSR with the collective farms of the Krasnodarsk Region and Chuvashiya as a basis. Personal exhibition “My Love and my Grief, Russia” (2010). Included in the encyclopedia “The Best People of Russia” (2011). Husband of M. A. Karacharskovaya, art historian, Distinguished cultural professional of the Chuvash ASSR (1986).
