Shkurko Anatoly Nikiforovich

Shkurko Anatoly Nikiforovich (1924 - 2015, Smolin Village, Chernigov region, Chernigov). Painter. Honored Artist of Ukraine (1996). People's Artist of Ukraine (2009). He studied at the Kharkiv Art College, but the war interrupted his studies. He graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.E. Repin, Academy of Arts of the USSR (1951) at R. Franz, D. Olkhovsky, I. Sorokin’s studios. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR (Ukraine) since 1960. Participant of the Great Patriotic War. He worked in the field of easel painting, thematic painting, landscape, portrait. Member of the All-Union (since 1961), national (Ukrainian, 1954) exhibitions. The winner of the Kotsyubinsky Regional Award. His works are in the Chernigov Art Museum, Donetsk Art Museum, Kharkov Art Museum, private collections including abroad.
