Zhmakin Valentin Ivanovich

Studied in Tashkent at the Republican Art College (1944-1948) with A. N. Volkov, V. I. Ufimtsev, A. P. Lunev, at the V. I. Mukhina Higher Arts and Crafts College in Leningrad (1948-54). Lived in Tashkent, from 1997 on in Moscow. Took part in exhibitions from 1957 on. Member of the Artists’ Union of the Uzbek SSR (from 1957 on). Distinguished Artist of the Uzbek SSR (1964). Taught at the Republican Art College (from 1954 on), at the A. N. Ostrovskiy Stage Design Institute in Tashkent (from 1962 on, Professor - 1979).
