Studied at the Konakovo Arts and Crafts College (graduated in 1948), at the “Memorial of the 1905 Uprising” Moscow Province Art and Pedagogic College of Fine Arts in Moscow with V.N. Baksheev, S. A. Grigoryev, S. N. Kostin (graduated in 1954). Member of the Artists’ Union of the USSR (1957). Took part in exhibitions from 1952 on. From 1954 on artist of the Kalinin branch of the Art Fund of the RSFSR and teacher at the Children’s Art school (1954-1957). Distinguished Artist of the RSFSR (1978), Folk Artist of the RSFSR (1991). Was awarded the Silver Badge of the Russian Academy of Fine Arts (2001).
