Starovoytov Gennadiy Semyonovich

Studied at the Art Middle School of the I. E. Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Leningrad (1945-1949). Took part in the jubilee exhibition of the Art Middle School held in France (1957). Continued his studies at the I. E. Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Leningrad (1959-1964) with E. E. Moiseenko, S.V. Khudyakov, P. P. Belousov. After graduation he went to the Arctic Circle. Lived in Vorkuta and moved to Syktyvkar in 1983. Worked in workshops of the Komi department of the Art Fund of the RSFSR in Vorkuta. Travelled frequently with geological expeditions throughout the Extreme North: to the island of Vaygach, the Kara Sea coast, the Polar Urals. Took part in exhibitions from 1964 on.
