National artist of Russia

Graduated from the Kursk Art and Graphic-Art College (1957) and from the Kharkov State Art Institute (1963), workshop of S. F. Besedin, A. M. Konstantinоpolskiy, A.V. Khmelnitskiy. Taught at the Art and Graphic-Art School of the Kursk State Institute (1963-1965), Professor at the department of Painting (1998). Distinguished Artist of the RSFSR (1982). Was awarded the Diploma of the Academy of Fine Arts of the USSR (1975) and of the Artists’ Union of the USSR (1999, 2006). Was elected as a member of the board of the Kursk branch of the Artists’ Union of Russia (1968-2002, 2002-2004). Was awarded the A. A. Deyneka Prize of the Governor of Kursk Province (2005). Undertook several creative journeys: to Lake Baykal (1986), Germany (1993, 2001, 2005).
