Graduated from the Leningrad I. E. Repin- Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (in 1959). Distinguished cultural professional of the RSFSR (1978); distinguished painter of the RF (1997). Taught at the Kursk Arts and Graphics College (from 1954 on). Creator of the sculptural monument “To the fighters for Soviet rule” (1968) in Kursk; of the decorative panel pictures “Youth” in the foyer of the Kursk Agricultural Institute, in the hotel “Kursk” (1980) and others. Together with L. A. Bryncev he published the book “Painters of the Russian land.” Jubilee edition (Kursk, 2006). Winner of the Kursk district governor’s A. A. Deneykin-prize (2006). Was repeatedly elected chairman of the executive board of the Kursk branch of the Russian Painters’ Union (in 1981, 1987, 1992, 1996 and 2002). Was awarded the title “Person of the year” in the category “creative work” by the Kursk branch of the Russian Painters’ Union.
